I am this close (visualize my thumb and forefinger a half inch apart) to embarking on a no-text no-email week — sort of a Lent-like period to cleanse my gummed-up soul of technological flotsam.
Some people would die before doing that.
I will not give up enchiladas, however.

Giving up technology is overrated. Your gummedupedness should not be blamed on the wrong thing.
Is the Lent of which you speak found primarily in your navel? If so, you might consider a higher polyester blend t-shirt. Are you texting with your navel though? That might be your problem. It could lead to carpel navel syndrome and you don’t want that.
Nice use of the word flotsam, by the way, and DO NOT under any circumstance give up the enchiladas.

Enchiladas FTW!
That photo sums up what the other side of the table usually looks like for me. I have actually tried to carry on a conversation, stopped mid-sentence – even mid word – only to find that my dinner partner didn’t notice I stopped at all. Ironically, I am told that I don’t communicate enough.
And maybe I misunderstand Lent. My wife said she was giving up Facebook for Lent. That lasted about three days. I was certain that lent was longer than that…lol
