One of my favorite times of the year is about to begin: baseball season. I never grew up much of a baseball fan, although I admit to remembering Dizzy Dean call the St. Louis Cardinals games when I was little. Fact is baseball practice was too early in the morning during the summers for me. But photographically? Well, that’s a different story.
Baseball is more fun to photograph than even football — and if you know my passion for the latter you know how big a statement that is. In baseball there are so many more decisive moments (OK, OK, I stole that phrase from Henri Cartier-Bresson, but it’s true).
And not all of it comes from the players, as seen in the shots below I took a couple of seasons ago of Oklahoma Coach Sunny Golloway having a discussion of sorts with the umps during an OU-Texas contest.
Yeah, he was ejected.

Hey Mike!
Got to go to Norman, OU, last week to do a PSA with the Stoopmiester. Very quick and painless but I did get his autograph on the cue card he read from. Took about 10 takes to get it right. Keep singing in that shower!
